Information about this Surf Resort

The tropical island of Okinawa in Japan is fortunate to have so many excellent breaks surrounding its coastlines. Hedo Point on the northern tip of the island is a right hander with a nice hollow barrel that finishes off with a smooth ride for another 30 meters. If you want to get away from the crowds then try out the local break known as Fruit Stand where the surf conditions really go off especially with a big swell. Zampa is probably the island's most well known spot but is often considered to dangerous to surf. It has some of the most consistent breaks on the west side of the island with probably the best right hand barrel in the whole of Okinawa. Not far from the main side is another break that drops into a nice left barrel that is a favorite among locals. All in all, you can pretty much find a great break no matter where you go in Okinawa. For accommodation we recommend staying at the Pacific Hotel Okinawa. It's clean, modern, great service and the rooms and amenities at the hotel are the perfect place to come back to after a day out on the water. Although not right next to the water, its a god neutral spot to base yourself for further exploring around the island as well as get a little bit of the Naha nightlife.
